Wat is Taekwondo Defense?
Taekwondo Defense (TKDD) is a realistic, modern form of self-defence that is trained and used by martial artists as well as by the police and military (e.g. in South Korea and Mexico). Unlike other styles of self-defence, Taekwondo Defense specifically uses Taekwondo techniques. Taekwondo Defense is open to practitioners of all martial arts with or without prior knowledge. Thus, Taekwondo Defense can be trained and practised even without prior experience in classical Taekwondo. - Taekwondo Defense is a system of self-defence, which includes the whole range of technical actions that are applicable not only in sports competitions, but also in a real combat situation. |
Taekwondo Defense?
There are two styles of taekwondo today: athletic and traditional. Both have little interest in realistic fighting techniques. But many coaches and athletes would like exactly that. Taekwondo Defense closes this gap and is therefore the optimal complement to classical Taekwondo. In addition, TKDD meets all the requirements of reality-based self-defence and thus appeals to a wide range of stakeholders: parents, youth, women, men, the elderly - all of whom often have a higher level of safety awareness and a desire to learn self-defence techniques. |
Präsident Eunseob Kim
Grandmaster Kim Eunseob is the founder of Taekwondo Defense and began developing the self-defense system in Korea in 2013. TKDD spread rapidly, mainly through YouTube videos. Grandmaster Kim therefore founded the World Taekwondo Defense Federation, of which he is President today. He is also the Technical Advisor to World Taekwondo Headquarters Kukkiwon on Self Defense. The self-defense portion of the new Kukkiwon Text-Book (the "Bible of Taekwondo") is based on TKDD. |
